Allotment within social care

When can I apply?

If you are personally and properly providing full-time care to a relative or other person who is mostly or totally helpless or is older than 80 years and partially helpless or, according to the examining doctor, requires other person’s care. Where and how to apply?

Before the application is submitted it is necessary to obtain an acknowledgement of helplessness, i.e., increase in retirement pension due to helplessness (see above). The application must be submitted at the social department of the municipal authority in accordance with the permanent address of the applicant. This authority also pays the allotment.

Amount of the allotment

The contribution for the relative is 5,310 CZK a month. If care is provided for two or more people, the contribution is 9,086 CZK a month.

A new amendment to the law allows a concourse??? of this contribution and a widow’s/widower’s allotment. For those who apart from the contribution for the relative receive social welfare as well, only half of this contribution will be included in the evaluation of their income by the authorities. Now it is also possible that a mostly or totally helpless person may be placed for up to six hours a day in a relevant institution so that the caregiver may complete his/her errands and work to a given extent if during his/her presence, care for the ill person is provided by another adult.
